Why Become a SUNY Advocate?

SUNY is the largest comprehensive university system in the United States, educating more than 427,000 students in 7,669 degree and certificate programs on 64 campuses.

SUNY campuses are located in nearly every community in New York State, making SUNY the primary developer of the state's human, or intellectual, capital.

SUNY offers a top-quality higher education that is accessible to any New Yorker who wishes to pursue it, at a price that is affordable to nearly all individuals and families when combined with the State's Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).

SUNY's colleges and universities provide much of the research and development necessary to keep New York competitive in an increasingly knowledge-based and global economy.

SUNY Alumni number more than 2.4 million and hold positions of leadership and influence around the globe. However, the majority of SUNY alumni reside and pursue careers right here in New York State, contributing to the economic and social vitality of its citizens.
